There is nothing more fun than spending the summer months with friends. My only fear to this activity is that I might break something or lose my suit! Can’t wait for summer!

Creativity is often replicated in different forms or fashions.
Look at Apple. They used a minimalist design in their advertisements, often with just a product and very little text. This style was replicated time and again. Some replications happen on purpose while others are completely accidental.
I recently saw this happen again with Samsung’s most recent commercial. I doubt that the creators of the Samsung spot saw the commcerical from Hungry Howies. It is fun to see the humor similarities though!
This Hungry Howie’s spot was released in 2010.
Here is the newest Samsung spot!
There are so many great coders out there. Some that do it by the book so close that everything is cleanly laid out and others who may not be as entirely clean but are pulling off some amazing work. What about those who are running highly creative movements but don’t have the same chops in coding.
This look by PBS Off Book, gives a look into some new options!
Thanks to Brian Craig for pointing it out to me!
What is your favorite feature that they have?
Have you ever heard Scott Harrison’s story about Charity Water?
As I think about going to the polls tomorrow, this clip from HBO‘s The Newsroom comes to mind. Is America the greatest country in the world? When you go to the polls tomorrow, remember you are a part of a country that has been united in great tragedy, but why is it in our worst times that we come together and not in our greatest? Tomorrow we get to exercise a right that so many around the world can not. No matter what your political stance is, on November 7th we still live a privileged life.
My morning reading took me past this story on Mashable entitled “Are you a Mobile Superhero?” This caught my attention. I know. You are saying, “No kidding, you talk about this all the time.” Well it’s true. If I am not talking about it, I am certainly trying to live it out. Working in two separate locations throughout the week (not including times like now where I am not at a clients office or at my own). Enjoy this infographic brought to you by Unisys in collaboration with Forrester Consulting.
Just over two months have passed since I last posted on this site. Why? Well, it was pretty simple. I am always one to try out new things and use my playground to enjoy all of the technology in front of me. Two months ago, I found myself in a quandary I had less and less time to spend on the blog yet I was still attempting to stay active. I enjoy using Instagram and seeing as how they are using Tumblr as a destination for their sharing, I decide to give Tumblr a whirl to see which platform I like better. Here is what I came up with.
Mobility in Posting
I am part of the statistics that say that smartphones are dominating the market and how we interact and share online. Spend enough time around me and you’ll hear me talk about it in various ways because I believe that a company that isn’t investing in the mobile experience, they are handing over their customers to the competition.
Being on the go, mobility has been huge for me to post and share thoughts, inspirations and images. I have been one lately to share quick items and not spend a great deal of time pouring into writing out my thoughts. This has made mobility a big part of my process. Although, the downside is doing a long form post such as this. I wouldn’t attempt to do so on my iPhone or iPad. Both Tumblr and WordPress have mobile apps that you can post with but I personally prefer the use of Tumblr in those situations.
Dynamic Control
While Tumblr allows me to have quick access to posting from a mobile device or a desktop, you are considerably more limited in the control of your post. This is where using WordPress stands out for me. I enjoy the ability to customize the post in every way that I need to. I can add in multiple videos or photos while with Tumblr, you are more limited in how this lays out.
In the End
At the end of the day, I found that I will end up with two sites bryanwillmert.com (WordPress) and bryanwillmert.me (Tumblr) and each will have their own focus. I know this isn’t a complete breakdown of what these sites offer but it is a quick glimpse of my journey through the exploration through both platforms.
Enjoy and happy posting!
If you have been a regular visitor of this site, then you will have noticed that I haven’t done much on here lately. I have been playing with the Tumblr platform vs. WordPress. So far, I really enjoy Tumblr for the ease of use and I can post from multiple sources, yet I do like the control over the posts that I can have in WordPress.
The exploration will continue and we’ll see what happens.
For now, on here, I have upgraded to the newest version of Standard Theme and it has thrown the design all out of wack! Good times!
Talk to you soon!
